Katelios has been our destination four times, but this was our first stay here and it’s now our favourite. The owners were hardly ever around, yet somehow everything stayed immaculate. The room had everything we wanted and was spotless. And the pool looked straight out of a holiday brochure, beautifully planted with shrubs and trees, and absolutely pristine.

The family looking after the apartments were lovely, always busy but still waving and saying hello. There are only 10 apartments in the block, and during our 11 days we had the spotless pool area to ourselves. Our apartment was a good size and lovely. It’s now adults only. There’s a fridge and kettle, but no other cooking equipment, which we knew, so we brought a travel toaster and an egg boiler. The bakery and supermarket are both a little over a 10-minute walk away, and the supermarket has everything you need. There are a couple of restaurants on the way down to the main centre, where you’ll find about 15 restaurants and a few bars. I’d read the reviews and decide for yourself. This was our first time visiting Kefalonia, and we were lucky to find such a nice place to stay.

We had a clean, quiet room with excellent air conditioning, and the owners even provided a cot for our one-year-old. They looked after us so well, including making home-cooked breakfast every day. It’s run by a local, traditional Greek family, and we’d definitely stay again.
