The only decent thing was the location. The room was really dirty, there were ants in the beds, and the owner yelled a lot. They didn’t change the sheets, and there were no mops or cleaning supplies. They didn’t even check the rubbish left by previous guests. There’s a camera on the balcony that felt like an invasion of our privacy. The fans were the only option instead of AC, and they cost a lot. A whole family screamed all day, with loads of kids around. I wouldn’t come back even if someone paid me.

We had a tremendous stay in Kavos. The host was really pleasant, and the place was so quiet compared with all the madness at night.

The pillow was much too uncomfortable for me, though the bed itself was good. We had a fridge, stove, kettle, TV, air conditioning, and a small balcony that was lovely for breakfast. It’s about a 10-minute walk to the beach, and close to the nightlife while still being quiet. They even supplied a travel cot for my 18-month-old daughter. A good option if you’re happy with the basics.

The garden was a lovely, well-kept oasis, and there was private parking right beside the apartments. Our apartment had a balcony, air conditioning, and a well-equipped kitchenette. Though it’s in central Kavos, we slept peacefully, and the location worked perfectly for us, with plenty of restaurants, shops, and entertainment nearby. The beach is close, though Corfu has much nicer ones elsewhere. We toured the island by motorbike and recommend renting a scooter, quad bike, or car to explore the west or north. Kavos has lots of rental shops and boat trip offers, too. Christina was a great, kind owner who checked in with us every day and helped with everything. She even waited for us when we arrived late. We were very happy.
