The room was spacious, clean and had a kitchenette, and the pool was nice and clean. There are banana trees by the pool, and the location is good. It was good value for the money. Breakfast was very basic, and the coffee was horrible. My main complaint was the extra 10 euros per night for AC, which wasn’t mentioned in the booking. That feels like a lot for about eight hours of AC at night, when everyone is out during the day.

I’d give the hotel five out of ten. The rooms were generally clean, and there’s a small pool, but it only opens at certain hours, so swimming late at night isn’t possible. Breakfast is served to order on a plate rather than as a buffet, which I found limiting. You can’t choose freely, and after dozens of hotels, I consider that a serious drawback. There’s also a 10-euro nightly charge to use the air conditioner. For a five-night stay that adds 50 euros, and I found the explanation ridiculous and unjustifiable. They also take a 50-euro deposit from every guest, and I couldn’t understand the reason for that either. As for Kavos itself, most visitors seemed to be English tourists aged around 20 to 30, looking for a cheap holiday and not too concerned with quality. More than 90% of the area felt English to me, and I saw very few families. The nightclubs along the road were extremely mediocre and low quality. The beach stretches for kilometres in both directions, but whichever way you go, there’s a lot of seaweed and pollution. The sea is terribly dirty and awful, so if swimming in the sea is part of your dream, forget it. I think the people saying it’s beautiful are hotel staff or people they know. Look up the Kavos sea online and you’ll see why I say that. The hotel is about 40 km from the airport. For such a tourist island, the road is terrible and prehistoric. With no traffic, a taxi takes about an hour and a half and costs around 90 euros. Keep that in mind if you’re considering this area, because the journey is a very boring one.

It’s a family-run business, and I’d recommend the hotel to anyone, including families. The pool is beautiful, the bar has a good range of food and drinks, and the staff are always around if you need anything. Room service and cleaning happened every day. I trusted the hotel with my belongings, even though all my luggage had been opened and wasn’t locked, and nothing went missing. The manager was my favourite. Honestly, the service was excellent. The rooms were clean and the staff were amazing. I had the most amazing time, and in my opinion this is the best hotel in all of Kavos. I’d definitely book and stay here again.

We arrived after midnight, but I emailed ahead and they confirmed it would be fine. Anything we needed was sorted almost straight away, and the host was great. The rooms are basic, but have what you need to make simple meals. There are supermarkets nearby for self-catering, as well as plenty of food places and bars. The beach and strip are about a five-minute walk away, yet it stays quiet at night. The balcony doors block out the noise really well. I especially liked sitting on the balcony with a coffee early in the morning before the day got hot. The pool bar cocktails were lovely too. It feels like a hidden gem for location, close to everything while still offering some peace and quiet.

We spent six nights at Oasis Hotel, and the hospitality made it a good stay. The room was basic but clean, which mattered most to us. The hotel ladies cleaned after breakfast and often waited until we’d gone out, while the host, Dimitrios, was helpful with advice and assistance. We mostly slept there and spent our days exploring the island. We probably won’t return to Corfu, but we’ll remember this as a good base. Kavos turned out to be a party town, and the hotel had lots of young, drunk English guests playing music on their balconies. I understand that’s the kind of clientele these resorts attract, but it’s something to consider. Since we were out all day, it didn’t bother us too much. If you plan to spend a lot of time at the hotel, Kavos generally isn’t a good base. The breakfast menu was disappointing for a 3.5-star hotel. After the first day we knew to order from the menu or skip breakfast and find something in town. Still, our holiday was a plus.
