We found it handy as a base for reaching the island’s best beaches, including Elefonissi, Falasarna and Ballos. The hotel itself was great. I’d suggest renting a boat from the place next door and setting off early for Ballos Beach.

We had such a pleasant stay at Aphrodite hotel, probably the nicest one we’ve had. The staff were cheerful and welcoming from morning until late in the evening, and the service was top-notch. It’s also in a great spot for exploring northeastern Crete. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty, with really good coffee. We’ll definitely return.

The owner’s excursion advice was worth listening to, and the restaurants she suggested were excellent. Ask her for tips when you arrive. She also runs the beach bar by the sandy beach, which you can reach directly from the property, and the loungers there are lovely. The place has a beautiful pool and sunbathing area, clean, well-equipped rooms, and a buffet of Greek-style breakfast dishes that changes a little each day. The coffee and fresh orange juice were standouts. It’s clear the owner runs the house with care and attention to detail. We’d recommend this resort completely.

The location worked perfectly for us, with a beach nearby and town and restaurants close at hand. The front desk and cleaning staff were so kind, and gave us useful ideas for our trip.

The breakfast buffet was exceptional, and the hotel was very nice. I’d choose one of the beaches to the west over the hotel’s own beach.
