Penny Luxury Apartments

The pool was lovely, with cold water from the mountains, and there are plenty of hikes, villages, and good restaurants around the island. Kokkari’s first restaurants are about a 15-minute walk away, and beautiful Lemonakia Beach is nearby. We spent a week here in October and enjoyed the beautiful apartment. It had everything we needed, including some things for our first breakfast and a cup of coffee. The beds were comfortable, and the balcony had a great view. Dimitry gave us a marvelous welcome. All the ingredients for a nice holiday.

A really relaxing sunny holiday, with no bugs, a nice freshwater pool that didn’t seem to have too many chemicals, and good Wi-Fi both inside and outside. The owner was very hospitable and welcomed us with drinks and food. The apartment was cleaned every two or three days, with fresh bed linen and towels. We were in the second-floor apartment on the left. It had a great terrace, plus an outdoor seating area at the back of the building where you can park the car. The spacious apartment had very new furniture and everything we could want, including a TV with Netflix, an espresso machine, and two air conditioners. It’s five minutes outside Kokkari, so you get the benefits of the small tourist village without the downsides. Being a little way up the mountain gives the apartments a great ocean view. A true hidden gem.

Dimitris was very helpful and even brought us fresh figs and lemons from his garden. We stayed in the ground-floor apartment, which has a view over Kokkari, and enjoyed our time there. It’s a great base for exploring the island, though you need a car. On a day when you’d rather stay nearby, Lemonakia beach is walkable, and Kokkari has places for dinner and cocktails within walking distance.

We first visited this beautiful villa in maybe June 2004, during its second week open, and it was fabulous. Dimitri was the best host. The pool had just been finished then, and it looks marvellous now. I’d love to revisit in a heartbeat, and I’m so pleased to see how established it has become. I recognize the apartment we stayed in back then from the photos. Maybe one day? X
