Zorbas Family House

The views are a big part of what makes Zorbas memorable. We could see them from our downstairs balcony in room 2, and the pool bar's outdoor breakfast and lunch area had an even better outlook. The car park above the apartments offered another great vantage point. Guests from other hotels even came by for a drink to enjoy the scenery. Getting up the hill takes some effort, though we, both 62, found it manageable. We preferred the original hill to the newer route with steps, while some other people liked the steps better. At the top, the views made the climb worthwhile. The family team gave us a really warm welcome, and one of the three brothers who co-own the place showed us to our room. It had a typical Greek style and plenty of cutlery and crockery, including good-sized cups. There was a sandwich maker instead of a toaster, though apparently some guests had both. My one small gripe was that there was just one bedside unit, on my side, of course. The balcony had three chairs, a round table and a clothes airer. The room was cleaned very well each day, with fresh bedding and towels twice a week. The pool had sturdy four-poster sunbeds with netting on every side for shade. At the pool bar, Michael served generous, good-value cooked breakfasts and lunches. The gyros were especially good, stuffed with fresh fries and available with pork, chicken, halloumi or mushroom. There aren't evening meals, but two restaurants are a two-minute walk down the hill. Drinks were €5 for pints, €8 for shorts and €10 for cocktails. Michael was a sound guy and spoke perfect English. Three new four-berth apartments with private pools were nearly finished while we were there. We watched the work progress each day, and they looked superb. We'd definitely consider coming back soon. The views, service, owners and staff made this a holiday to remember.

The sea and pool looked beautiful from our room, and the bar by the pool had a cozy feel with tasty cocktails. The rooms were spacious and lovely, too. This family-run resort made us feel at home right away. We couldn't recommend it more. 10/10.

The owners and their family were fantastic hosts, and the gyros were out of this world. Beer was cheap and ice cold. We also loved the fantastic views from both the room and pool. Our room was comfortable and very clean, and the pool was clean and well kept, with those lovely double four-poster sunbeds.

I visited at the start of May and found the owners and staff lovely and really friendly. The pool was a good size, very clean, and set in a relaxing area. There was plenty of room in both the bedroom and living area. I'd highly recommend staying here if you're going to Skiathos. 😀
