Eva Palace, Grecotel Luxury Resort

The hotel is pretty, set into the cliffs, and the location is great. The staff were kind and the beach was gorgeous. We had a great trip overall, but the food was a major letdown for a supposed five-star resort. Breakfast eggs were cold and overcooked, and unlike other similar resorts, they flatly refused to make fresh eggs or omelettes. Instead they pointed us to the stale, unpleasant eggs under heat lamps. The bacon was the worst I’ve had, like chewing plastic. Lunch and dinner weren’t much better, with the proteins a major miss, so we ended up eating out most of the time. The salad bar and bread selection were pretty good, but they really skimped on protein. We tried the pasta bolognaise too, and it was awful. The food was well below average and not what I’d expect from a five-star place.

The people at Eva Palace made our honeymoon stay especially memorable. Themis, the Service Manager, was kind, professional, and attentive to every detail, making our final evening and departure day feel special. Vimtra at the pool bar was always warm, welcoming, and attentive. We were touched to find champagne waiting in our spotless, well-kept room when we arrived on the day the hotel reopened for the season. Everything was running beautifully from the start, a real credit to the team. The hotel sits on a cliffside with stunning views across Lake Butrint, and you can even see Albania and mainland Greece in the distance. The buffet had a great range at breakfast and dinner, with plenty of variety each day. La Contessa, the Italian à la carte restaurant, was a highlight and well worth recommending. There’s also a shuttle into Corfu Old Town twice daily. Book it ahead with the Guest Services Team to make exploring easy. It was the perfect place to celebrate and finish our honeymoon. We left relaxed and grateful, already hoping to return. Go raibh míle maith agat (a thousand thanks) for such a memorable stay.

The rooms are old-fashioned, but clean and comfortable. The gardens and pools are lovely, the beach is very good with a nice view, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The food is great. We’ll definitely come back.

Marivi was so professional, kind, and welcoming during our stay. She was always attentive and helpful, which made everything feel effortless. Grecotel Eva Palace is beautiful, with a lovely atmosphere and excellent service. A really memorable experience.
