We came at the end of September, near the end of the season, and everything still felt just right. The quiet, secluded setting was a big part of the appeal, though you’ll need a rental car to get around. Sunsets were amazing. The staff were so friendly and helpful with suggestions for places and restaurants nearby, and we loved their recommendations. The hotel is very clean and looked after. The large pool area is comfortable, with high-quality sunbeds, and has a luxurious feel. Poolside snacks and drinks were delicious. Breakfast offered plenty of choice and quality food, especially the Greek yogurt with local honey and walnuts. It’s a magical place with a wonderful atmosphere and view. We can’t recommend it enough.

Breakfast had a great mix of hot and cold choices, both sweet and savoury. There are snacks available during the day and evening, though for dinner we’d suggest one of the many good restaurants nearby. Two are within walking distance. This lovely hotel sits on a cliff above Petani Bay, on the west side of the island. It’s well placed for several great beaches and less than an hour from the airport. Staff and hosts are incredibly helpful with ideas for places to visit and eat. The spacious, pleasant rooms have wonderful west-facing views, and the sunsets are spectacular from the balcony, pool, or bar. It’s especially suited to couples after a quiet, romantic break.

The staff were lovely, helpful, and always keen to give great service. The hotel was full when we stayed for a week at the end of September, but it hardly felt like there were other guests. At breakfast by the pool or bar, we saw three couples at most. There was always space by the infinity pool, with its amazing view over Petani Bay and the sea, and those sunsets were perfect. Petani Bay beach was my favourite on the island, with beautiful water and some restaurants. The location and menu are worth considering, but they worked perfectly for us. By car, it’s five minutes to some restaurants, 18 minutes to Lixouri, then another 20 on the ferry to Argostoli if you want. A peaceful, beautiful spot on a beautiful island.

The atmosphere was wonderfully relaxing, and the views were among the most breathtaking I’ve ever seen. My room was beautiful, the service outstanding, and the food delicious. I had an amazing stay and couldn’t have asked for a better holiday. I’d highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Greece.

The family-run feel made our stay at Petani Bay Hotel special. We felt welcome as soon as we arrived, and the care and kindness showed in all the details. The rooms were lovely, the infinity pool amazing, and the outdoor bar cozy. Of all our time in Kefalonia, this was one of the trip’s highlights. The view over Petani Bay is unforgettable.
