Athina Apartments

Athina is family-run, and the service is amazing. It’s one of the best apartments on the island. Their new apartments and rooms give them more variety, and there’s always space for everyone. A great way to spend a Greek holiday.

The good points were the location, which was okay and not too far from the centre or beach, a well-maintained pool, good food and drink options at the bar, and bike and scooter rental at the hotel. The downsides were more serious. We stayed for 11 days, but cleaning was below expectations. We got fresh bed linen every other day, while the floor, kitchen and bathroom were hardly cleaned, if at all. WiFi didn’t work in the room and barely worked at reception, the bar or pool. Air conditioning cost €5 a day, small ants were in our living room from day one, and only single beds were available. The hotel’s organization was odd. Each employee had a clear task, which can be useful, but only the cleaning lady could enter the cleaning room, even though she was there for about four hours a day. We had to wait a day for towels or a coffee machine. Service was mediocre, too. Some staff were very unwilling to help with even small requests, and made us feel like we were interrupting their fun with colleagues by asking a question. After checking out at 11am, we stayed on the property until our 5pm airport bus, spending the day at the pool and bar. The staff, a small family crew, were there all day. I only realized my headphones were missing when we were on the way to the bus. When I went back and asked to go into the room to get them, staff started arguing. Then one of them handed them back from the laundry area. They’d already found them while cleaning the room at 11 o’clock.

With 15 of us there, Pasxalis, Athina & Caterina made the trip much better than we'd expected. They were so kind and happy to help with anything we asked. The apartments are in a great spot near the sea and harbour. Thanks to all of them for the effort and support. We'll be back!

The new studios look great, with everything new and walk-in showers. Athina is a lovely little apartment complex close to the city, run by a very kind family. I'd happily recommend it.
