Blue Lagoon Resort

The beachside setting and views of the beach and sunset were fantastic, and the resort was very welcoming for children. Staff gave the kids high-fives, and there was a separate food area for children who didn't like the other options. There were two crepe stations, one in the waterpark and another at 'Crepe Island' in the middle of the main pool. We'd been here for the past week as a family and all had a great time. Since it was the end of the season in Greece and at the resort, places such as the main restaurant were closed, so we ate at a different restaurant on site. The palmera entertainment team were lovely, with darts, waterpolo, zumba, beachball, kids discos, and a show every night. All the staff were nice and friendly, and I have nothing bad to say about them. The rooms were a bit basic, and our door popped open unexpectedly while I was in the shower. We loved the place and would definitely come again.

The hotel's location is amazing, and a day pass is quite cheap. With a late flight, it could be a nice way to relax by the pool, as long as you can avoid the crowds. We only visited the spa on a day pass, so I can't rate the rooms. The facilities looked beautiful, and the indoor pool wasn't crowded, but the outdoor pool was incredibly busy. That wasn't the kind of relaxing break I wanted. It didn't feel like a five-star hotel to me. Lunch was included, but it was a very simple buffet, and the coffee was the usual airport-machine kind. While we tried to find the spa, the employees didn't seem very welcoming or knowledgeable.

The evening shows were brilliant, like musical theatre every night! The entertainment team were fantastic during the day and in the evening, with fun activities for kids and adults. There was so much for the whole family to do, including tennis, football, volleyball, mini golf, bike hire, and basketball. The pools were spotless with loads of loungers, and finding food was easy, with plenty of choice and themed restaurants on site. Service went above and beyond: they even gave us a complimentary room extension since we weren't due to check out until late evening.

The resort is huge, with fun pools, water slides, and plenty of spots to sit in the sun or shade. The beach is nearby, and the sunset over the ocean is beautiful. All the staff were exceptionally kind and supportive, so we felt looked after the whole time. The animation team runs club dances three times most days and aqua fitness once in the main pool, and they're always fun to join.
