Catherine Hotel

We had a really pleasant week here. It's quiet and very clean, with a presentable room and plenty of space to hang clothes. There's a television, if that's your thing, and they'll lend you an iron if you ask. We just needed somewhere to sleep after the beach or a day out, so it suited us well. The hotel has no pool, but for the price it's brilliant. We went self-catering, though breakfast is available for €10. The hosts were polite and welcoming. We weren't due to be picked up until 4pm, and although the hotel was full, they let us keep the room until 1:30pm after we asked for a late checkout. That helped a lot. You can get local takeaway delivered, and the setting is very peaceful with no interruptions. The marina front is only 30 seconds away, with lots of the island's best food and bar places. For a couple like us, it's worth considering. The two-star rating doesn't capture how the hotel feels. Service was 10/10. Thanks, Yamas.

We got in late at night, so it was great to have reception available whenever we needed it. The staff were super friendly, and the price was really good too. It's right in the city center, with the beach also close by, about 5-10 minutes away.

The breakfast has plenty of choice and was quite satisfying. The hotel is very central, and our balcony looked out over the port and tour boats. At night, the view was beautifully lit. Everything was clean.

The only little snag was parking. If you rent a vehicle, there's nowhere to leave it overnight except on public roads. Otherwise, the hotel has been renovated and was clean and tidy, with excellent staff who couldn't do enough for you. It's about 100 yards from the harbour front, bars and restaurants.
