Yannis Yard Studios and Apartments

We visited in early June, and the pool was warm enough to enjoy, with plenty of sunbeds. The room was cleaned regularly, and the staff were friendly. It was decent overall, with a nice balcony, a fridge with a small freezer compartment, and air conditioning that was a lifesaver in the heat. There was no bar or restaurant, so for drinks we often went next door to Nicon apartments or to the local supermarkets. The WiFi was the worst part of our stay, so bring access to 4G or 5G if you need reliable internet. Some mornings we were woken early by loud scraping noises. I’m not sure what caused them. I was also disappointed that our shower wasn’t attached to the wall, unlike in some other rooms, and that we had two single beds instead of a double. I hear that’s common in Kos, though.

It’s a nice place to return to, and I’d recommend it. Outside high season, you can share the private pool with just a few people. The main city is a 30-minute walk away, with several nice beaches to choose from. The food is very cheap, about €7, and honestly, what you get could cost more. Rooms are cleaned daily, the sheets are changed often, and fresh towels come every 3 days. They’ll even make the bed for you if you’re too lazy to do it yourself. The people are very friendly. I didn’t really get a hot shower, or much hot water in general, but it didn’t bother me.

The location was perfect for me, and the friendly staff were a plus. The pool was too cold for everyone at the end of September, though apparently that happens across the whole island. There were cobwebs here and there, so it wasn’t that clean. The facilities I wanted were available, but I wouldn’t recommend the food.

I only spent one night here, but I’ll definitely come back for a longer stay. The rooms are basic, yet they take good care of them and they’re impressively clean for a 3 star hotel. There’s a nice pool area where you can order breakfast and coffee. The one letdown was the aperol spritz I ordered. It tasted like sugar and water, not what I expected.
