Maria and owner Irinni were so kind and helpful during our short stay. They pointed us to local shops, and when it was still wet and dark, Irinii even drove us back from the sister hotel restaurant Avanti, where we’d had a good meal. It’s a compact, family-run hotel, and the personal warmth more than makes up for small inconveniences like the rather small bedroom and bathroom. The location in Kos Town is fantastic, near lovely shops, restaurants and the port and harbour. It’s seven minutes by taxi, which would have been a long walk. We were only there for one night, on the first rainy day in Kos for months, so we couldn’t enjoy all the facilities, including the closed rooftop bar and restaurant. Thank you, Maria and Irinni, for making us feel so welcome.

The room was okay, and breakfast was really good. But please clean the air conditioner filters, the air smelled bad. It also stopped twice overnight and woke me up.

We barely spent time in the room, which had the basics and was comfortable enough, since we were out exploring the island. The staff were wonderful and always ready to help, and being so close to both the beach and the city centre made it easy to get around and fit in everything we wanted. A really enjoyable stay.

The breakfast was good, though by the end we were ready for a change in what was on offer. The walls are thin, so that could bother a light sleeper, but it didn't trouble us. We always found a bean bag by the small pool, and the rooms were kept clean. The breakfast staff were lovely too. If location matters more to you than a luxury hotel, this place works really well.

The Wi-Fi was easily the worst I've had in more than 12 countries and nearly twice as many hotels. I was here for work, and the speed tests the staff and I ran showed 5 Mbps download. I've even had better internet on a mountain hike. You might manage basic downloads if you don't need video calls, but I'd avoid this place for remote work. Aside from that, the hotel was suitable and the staff were very nice.
