Oku Hotel Kos

The location is excellent, the beach is nice and the property is well designed. But some rooms are run-down or poorly placed, including ones near the road and construction sites. In some, the fridge doesn’t work properly and makes it hard to sleep. The higher-category rooms are quite decent, so make sure you don’t book a standard room. Staff weren’t very engaged or helpful, and customer service was lousy. I wouldn’t recommend it.

We’d stayed at this hotel three times and had good experiences before, which made this one especially disappointing. On our latest visit, my gold necklace disappeared from the room. I can’t prove what happened or who was responsible, and I know many honest, hard-working people work here, but the necklace is gone. I knew it was in my jewelry box two days before checkout, and it was missing the evening before we left. We reported it. The hotel noted the issue and checked the room, but that was the only action. The manager suggested we might have lost it somewhere else. Later, we were told we should have put our valuables in the safe. At a five-star hotel marketed as “laid-back luxury,” guests shouldn’t feel they need to hide their belongings because they might disappear. That kind of worry is what I’d expect at a hostel, not a property of this caliber. It’s a shame, because we used to really like this place, but the incident has changed how we feel about staying here. I’d tell anyone visiting to keep valuables with them or leave them at home.

We had a fantastic honeymoon stay at OKU Kos. Everything was clean, well organized and thoughtfully arranged, and the peaceful atmosphere and beautiful design made it a relaxing place to be. The staff were friendly and attentive, and we especially enjoyed the delicious breakfast and lovely beach area. Having a board available to use in the sea made our days even more fun. Special thanks to hotel manager Alex Efstratiadi for taking such good care of us throughout the stay. We highly recommend OKU Kos for a memorable, distinctive getaway in Kos.

I’ve stayed here before and couldn’t wait to return. The quiet luxury style and thoughtful service make you feel at home as soon as you arrive. This time I’d accidentally booked September next year instead of this year, but the staff managed to fit us in despite the short notice, without any hassle. Their dedication and professionalism really showed. Thanks to the whole team for looking after us so well again. I’m already excited to come back. Best wishes from Germany.
