The place is lovely, with lemon trees, other trees, and herbs all around. The owner is such a nice man, and he’s the grandfather of chef Lambros Vakiaros, who’s from Samos.

That huge terrace was a highlight: it had a whirlpool, a Balinese daybed, two single loungers, and a seating area under grapevines. The sea and mountain views were stunning, and at night we could see the Milky Way. We brought binoculars and would recommend them. On our second visit this year, the full moon sometimes made the Milky Way hard to see, but the moon itself looked enormous through the binoculars. The apartment is in a very quiet spot. We could hear only the arcades, and the nearby towns were still a quick drive away for shopping, food, or a swim. Koumeikon is three minutes by car, with two small supermarkets and a little bakery for fresh goods every day except Sunday. The apartment was fantastic, with a panoramic view and very friendly owners. It was cleaned every two days, with fresh towels and linens, and drinking water was always available. Everything was perfect again on our second stay. We’d go back in a heartbeat.
