Our room had a balcony with steps down to a lovely pool area, and there were plenty of comfortable sunbeds and beanbags. The pool bar was open from noon to 11 pm for drinks and cocktails. The location was good too: about five minutes to Laganas beach. That stretch was quite ugly if you didn’t want a sunbed, so we walked about 15 minutes to the left to find a cleaner, more natural beach. I understand turtles lay eggs there, so I’m not sure whether you can walk there all summer. The room was spacious, and housekeeping was top notch. We’d come back from breakfast and find it done up again, like the fairy godmother had visited. Everyone was friendly and helpful, from reception to the waiters. The food wasn’t amazing, but that was fine for us. It depends on what you expect: if you want the best all-inclusive food, I think Turkey or Egypt might be better. Some dishes were very good, while others weren’t to our taste. We had a really positive stay, though I’m not sure I’d pay the full in-season price. We went at the beginning of October, and it worked perfectly for us.

The pools were beautiful and very clean, and the rooms were comfortable. It’s a modern, spotless place with a great all-inclusive selection. The restaurant had a wide range of delicious food, and the waiters were especially friendly. Service was fantastic, the cocktails were good, and the staff were professional and pleasant. Great location near the beach. I recommend it 200%!

The food choices were excellent, abundant, and varied. Did I mention that already? Staff were nice and helpful, and the hotel sorted out the room mix-up caused by our travel agency. It’s fairly quiet overall, though the dining room gets noisy. The coffee wasn’t great, but, well, it’s Greece. Wi-Fi was patchy, enough for email and news and the occasional YouTube video. The pools were clean and had lots of sunbeds, even in October. The nearby beach has compacted sand, and the sea is warm and shallow. There’s hardly a sea view, and the island capital is quite far away, with not much to do nearby. I’d recommend staying here if you want a base for the beach and pool, with the occasional trip around the island.

The animators deserve a special mention. Both were friendly and chatty with everyone, and made an effort to keep guests enjoying themselves even if they didn’t join in. We tried a lot of the activities, including water aerobics, darts, a music quiz, and Zumba, and enjoyed them all thanks to those two. It was also easy to get around: about five minutes on foot to the beach, ten to the strip, and less than a minute to a supermarket and souvenir shops with everything we needed. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The food was delicious, with lots to choose from every day, probably the best all-inclusive food I’ve had. Our room was spotless when we arrived and was cleaned regularly. We spoke with a couple of the cleaners, who were incredibly lovely and hardworking. All four pools were clean and nice to swim in, with different sizes and plenty of loungers in sun or shade. I was really impressed with the hotel. If I return to Zante, I’ll stay here again.

Laganas was a great location for an all-inclusive break. The food was lovely, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We loved our stay, it was the best hotel we’ve ever had.
