Cornelia 2

We’ve stayed at Cornelia four times, in both Cornelia 1 and Cornelia 3, and the owners have become friends over the years. Their hospitality is a big part of why we keep coming back. The places are clean, well equipped and very reasonably priced. Cornelia 1 has two bedrooms, one bathroom, a full kitchen and a veranda where we enjoyed meals with a lovely view. Cornelia 3 has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large kitchen and a lounge and dining area, plus a veranda and a huge roof terrace. At night you can see the stars and the lit boat masts swaying in the harbour from up there. Restaurants and supermarkets are an easy walk away, and Harami beach is about ten minutes on foot. It’s a lovely spot for swimming, with an incredible taverna. I’d happily recommend Cornelia to anyone looking to stay in Lakka.

Lakka is small and flat, so getting around on foot was easy, and the restaurants felt less touristy than elsewhere on the island, if that’s possible. I think it’s the best place to stay on Paxos, especially because it’s close to beaches like Kipiadi, Orkos, Marmari and Meattie Buir, which is lovely at sunset. Cornelia 2 is on the ground floor, just a two-minute walk from the entrance square where there’s parking. We stayed there at the end of July 2024. The rooms had all been renovated that winter, though the Booking.com photos hadn’t been updated yet. The two-bedroom apartment was spacious and well kept, with air conditioning in every room, a comfortable terrace, a kitchen with a new induction stove, fridge, freezer and dishwasher, and a small bathroom with a very large shower. There was also a washing machine, handy for beach towels.

The owners were lovely, and the place felt like home. A great place to stay.
