Corfu Pearl

We rented a large two-story villa that can sleep up to four. It has two bedrooms, two toilets, a terrace with a table and chairs, a dining and kitchen area, and a reception room. It's spacious, and the pool is big, fairly clean, and quiet. The service was warm, friendly, and helpful. I liked that every window could be fully darkened and covered, which made sleeping comfortable. The bed in the first bedroom was comfortable, but the second bedroom had a harder mattress. Maybe that's intentional or a matter of preference, but I would have preferred a softer one like villas and hotels usually provide. The air conditioning was set to 24, which felt a bit too cold for us, and I couldn't change it. It would be nice to be able to adjust it normally. Otherwise, the villas work well for families or larger groups, and you can drive to the beaches.

The rooms are thoughtfully designed and open straight onto the large pool, with tastefully planted gardens around them. Athena and her family gave us a warm, helpful welcome. It's a lovely find. A good steak house is a 10-minute walk away, and the centre of Liapades, with its small, sociable square and restaurant, is 20 minutes on foot. We had a lovely stay.

It's peaceful here, away from noisy roads and crowds, and the grounds are green and beautifully maintained, with every tree, bush, and palm trimmed. The hotel is clean inside and out, and the rooms are spacious though modest. I didn't feel I was missing anything. Staff and management were very friendly. You need a car, as I don't know how you'd get here on foot or by public transport. I'd come any time of year just to enjoy the greenery and peace.

The hotel looks nice at first, but there were a lot of problems. Breakfast was poor and could use more options, the Wi-Fi was bad, and the air conditioning barely blew. We tried different modes but couldn't change them. The place is quite far out, so keep in mind you'll definitely need a car, bike, or quad. We were on foot. When we arrived, the shower head wasn't working. We reported it, but they only managed to fix it on our last night. We had to use some kitchen things to wash, which was especially unpleasant in the heat after swimming in the sea. On our last day, we rinsed our swimsuits at the tap and the old, rusty part connecting the plug and tap to the stopper handle broke.
