There are two pool areas, both clean and with plenty of sunbeds. Snacks and drinks are easy to get by the larger pool, where the snack bar is. The hotel itself is small and friendly, though the reception space doubles as the dining room, entertainment area and general seating, so it felt busy and was sometimes hard to find a table. There’s a separate snack bar area too, serving snacks by day and dinner in the evening. The food selection and quality were good, with themed nights as well as the usual buffet. The bar and dining staff worked hard clearing tables and were generally polite and friendly. Our twin room was clean but a bit tired and in need of maintenance. Having air conditioning and a safe costs extra. There are lots of steps, so it could be difficult for guests with serious mobility issues. We visited in October at the end of the season, when most of the Laganas strip had shut for winter. Zante Plaza Hotel and Apartments is a traditional Greek-style three-star hotel with all-inclusive service. It offered pleasant value for money, and we enjoyed our stay, though I’m not sure I’d return to Laganas.

The food was delicious, the staff were helpful and polite, and they worked incredibly hard. We had a fabulous time and loved the experience. There’s a nice location, and plenty of refreshments available in the main area, though there was a kettle in the room without tea or coffee. The rooms could use some improvement. After showering, I slipped on the floor a couple of times, and a floor squeegee would have helped. There are two flights of stairs, which were a struggle with heavy suitcases and for anyone with mobility issues. It was a tiring climb for some of us heavier Brits too, lol. The building looks a little tired and could do with an update and freshening up, though we visited at the end of the season. One pool looked a bit mucky, but the other was great. Can’t fault the staff or the food 👍

The reception team were knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. Staff across the hotel were excellent, and the bar staff were especially nice and ready to help. The rooms are spacious, cleaned every day, and the bedding was changed daily. The food was better than I usually expect from an all-inclusive. Drinks were about what you’d expect from an all-inclusive, not the worst, but certainly not the best. The hotel is within a four-minute walk of both the Laganas strip and the beach. I’d definitely recommend the place, especially if you’re keeping an eye on your budget. It’s above the usual three- to four-star tourist hotel.

We had a brilliant stay from beginning to end. The relaxed atmosphere, good food and drinks, and spot-on location all helped. The staff were so friendly and went out of their way to welcome us. We cheekily asked for a room upgrade that opened onto the pool, expecting to pay, but they gave it to us free! There were flies, wasps and mosquitoes around, which was part of the experience, though there isn’t much the hotel can do about them. We’d happily return.

The staff were friendly, and we had lovely weather. But with the season ending, there wasn’t much to do in the evenings. We had karaoke one night and bingo, then ended up playing cards. We left on Friday the 31st, and the hotels were closing the next day. There were also hundreds of wasps and flies. We bought a can of spray from a local shop to use while sunbathing. The layout surprised us when we arrived, as the dining room seemed joined to reception. There’s no lift, and getting to the bedrooms involves lots of steps. A porter helped with the luggage on arrival, but our family still had to carry bags up two flights of stairs. It’s not ideal if you have mobility problems. The beds were shockingly high. I’m only 4 ft 9, and mine was two and a half feet off the ground. The wardrobe rail was about five feet high, so I had to get a chair from the balcony to hang up clothes. The bathroom drain smelled bad, and after every bath the water leaked over the floor. We reported it and mopped up with towels.
