Konstantinos Beach 1

We paid €110 per night for a room with ripped, stained sheets, rock-hard pillows, beds as hard as the floor, an unbearable smell, rusty bathroom fixtures and an A/C that looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in years. We were worried it could make us ill. The room was on the top floor of a noisy building, with a side sea view instead of the promised front view, and the stairs were dangerous enough to injure our 5- and 7-year-old children. The room was cramped and on the 3rd floor, with no direct pool access, and it wasn't even an advertised studio. We were told the pool doesn't belong to this place. We booked specifically for breakfast, then found out our room wasn't eligible and our children had been counted as adults. The property also looked nothing like its pictures or description. We ordered various items from the owner during the stay, but on the last day he shouted at us for not ordering enough and embarrassed us in front of other guests. After all that, we moved on for the sake of the vacation, exhausted and with two kids in tow, and had no choice but to endure it. This felt like a complete scam and a trap. Please scrutinize every detail, and this place should be reported to the Greek Ministry of Tourism for an urgent inspection. The owner shamelessly exploited our situation. Spare yourself the misery and stay far away.

The apartments are right by the beach, though it's not the best beach in Thassos. There's a nice, large balcony, a big garden and parking, and the owner is around most of the time. We booked a triple room, but got two regular beds with a camp bed added. It was clean, though it could have been better, and for the price it wasn't good value compared with other apartments. I'd say it's suitable only if your main priority is a room next to the beach.

The location is in a nice village, though not in the village center, and the place doesn't look like the pictures. The room was dirty and very small for three people. The thing under the sheets was stained with blood and old sweat. When we called the owner, he said they change those only once a year and that this was normal. The beds felt like sleeping on the floor, and the pillows were just as bad. Everything is old. Breakfast had options, but the food was always gone, the pancakes mostly burned, and the juice was mostly water. The price is way too high for these conditions. Maybe it would be worth 50 euros for three people, and even then I wouldn't stay.

The host’s answer to our concerns was that this was what we should expect for the price, and that a normal room would cost twice as much. They had nothing else available, so we had to stay in the condition shown in my photos. The rooms were old, dirty, and things were broken. It was hard to believe the host saw no problem with it and didn’t help us find a solution. I can’t imagine going on vacation and being given conditions like that.
