Ippoliti Village

We came as part of a Karate Squad for the SKIF European Champions and would definitely return for a family holiday. Ippoliti Village was superb, and I’d highly recommend the hotel. It’s well placed for shops, bars, and restaurants. The staff at this family-run place couldn’t have been more helpful, and the rooms, pool bar, and toilets were all spotlessly clean.

The hillside setting in Koutouloufari is steep, so you’ll need to be reasonably fit. That seems to be true of quite a few hotels around this mountainside area. A nice beach with sunbeds for hire is about a 15-minute walk away. The resort is peaceful but convenient, and the family business has a friendly feel. Mama cooks at the pool bar and restaurant, which has the basics for snacks, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks. Pool facilities are very good, rooms are nice, and there’s daily maid service that keeps the place clean. One disappointment: the convenient supermarket below the pool wasn’t open during my 2023 stay and seemed to have closed permanently.

The upper rooms mean dealing with stairs, which is the only drawback. Otherwise, it’s a very nice, affordable place to stay, with good people, clean and spacious rooms, and a pleasant setting.

The pool area and rooms are really lovely, and Lena was absolutely lovely too, looking after guests very well. The main downsides were that the pool didn’t open until 9 a.m. and the room was cleaned only on the first and last day of our eight-day stay. The cleaning happened between 5 and 7 p.m., just when I was trying to get ready to go out. The cleaner didn’t leave toilet paper or change the sheets. The male owner was very strict, and the kids got into trouble a lot.
