We appreciated the welcome when we arrived. The landlord was friendly and left us welcome drinks, but after that he was hard to get hold of when issues came up. Noise was a major problem in the poorly soundproofed apartment. Nearby clubs played extremely loud music every night, and people shouted, argued, and knocked on hallway doors until early morning. On several occasions, people tried to unlock our door, or doors throughout the building. One night a man yelled in the hallway after a girl kicked him out. He stopped only when we said we’d call the police. People also vomited and urinated outside beside our balcony, which was unpleasant. There were practical problems too. The power went out from 3-6 am on our first night, leaving us without AC, lights, or TV. On the last day, little water came through the pipes, drainage was poor, and there wasn’t much hot water. Only one person could shower comfortably at a time. The apartment didn’t provide the comfort, peace, or security promised, so we wouldn’t recommend it. I hope management takes these issues seriously for future guests. Update: After I posted this honest review, the host messaged us saying we were harming the business and threatened legal action unless we took the comment down. We found that inappropriate and unprofessional. Guests should be able to describe their experiences, especially when safety concerns, noise, and poor communication are involved. I stand by what I wrote and hope it helps other travelers decide.
