Mythic Valley

Our room was lovely. We arrived after reception had closed and had booked to pay on arrival, but the hotel manager gave us the room code over the phone and said we could pay in the morning. Peak hospitality!

The room was cosy, if a little small, and it had already been warmed up for us. We got clear check-in instructions by email, and breakfast was nice. The host was very kind.

The breakfast was fresh and good quality, but basic and disappointing in terms of choice. There was one style of eggs, with the kind changing each day, no option to order other hot food, and no way to make our own toast. Some food supplies were limited too. I’d have been happy to preorder and pay a little extra. The owner was great about sending the door code in advance, and also provided a key that I didn’t need. The place is clean, smart, and beautifully distinctive, right behind the main street with its cafes, restaurants, and some bars. It stayed quiet there, and I’d book again.

After a long, hard day of hiking, the cosy bedroom was such a comfortable place to relax. The bed and pillows were super soft, and there were all sorts of amenities, including a water boiler and coffee machine with complimentary tea bags and coffee capsules. The whole building is lovely, warmly furnished, and beautifully designed, and the breakfast was amazing, with a mix of savory and sweet food that all tasted fresh and genuine. I loved the Greek yogurt, and the breakfast hall was warm and inviting too. Best of all was the host, the loveliest, kindest, most helpful woman. She gave me loads of suggestions for things to see and do, and even called the bus company to arrange my return trip. She made the whole stay wonderful. I wish I’d stayed longer!
