Xenia Ionis Luxury Concept Apartments

A friend suggested this hotel after I had to change my flight at the last minute and extend my stay while working on an archaeological excavation in Lixouri. I really liked it. My first-floor room faced the water and harbor, and had a small veranda with steps leading down to a parking area, so I didn't need to use the front entrance. The hotel is at the start of the promenade.

The photos looked great, but the place didn't look that way in person and needs updating. There was air conditioning only in the living and dining rooms, none in the bedrooms, and it was so hot that we couldn't sleep. The bathroom was filthy, with long black hairs everywhere. Nobody in my family has long black hair. I'd suggest wearing sneakers or indoor slippers.

I stayed at Xenia Ionis Luxury Apartments in July 2020. The place lives up to its name: it has a fully equipped kitchen, a large bathroom, and a balcony with a lovely view of the sea and mountains. I also got to know Irene and Nikolas, who were thoughtful and entertaining hosts. As an art lover, I even had the pleasure of seeing their own pinacoteca. Everything in Lixouri is close by, with a supermarket across the street and the center a five-minute walk away. As Arnold Schwarzenegger said, I'll be back.

The rooms and terrace are spacious, the furniture is nice, and the place is well located beside the supermarket. It did feel a bit expensive for what you get, though, and it wasn't spotless.
