Metropol is modest but clean, three streets up from the shoreline and about a five-minute walk to the city center. The studios have a mini kitchen in the room, with one pan, one pot, 2+2 plates, a bowl, and two spoons, forks, and knives. Bring a big knife if you plan to cut anything. There's a very hot little heating surface on top of the refrigerator, so I wouldn't choose this for serious cooking, just coffee and simple food prep. We got 1+1 towels for 10 days. The TV is small and has only three Greek channels. The Wi-Fi was poor, though with lots of tries and persistence you can use it. The bathroom has a small, shallow tub without a curtain. On the third floor, there was a cold and hot water pressure problem. Dimitros, the manager, offered us a first-floor room without us having to ask to change. Thanks, Dimitros! If you don't need much, you can choose Metropol.

It was dirty and old, with no hot water. The internet only worked if you stood on one leg in a corner. Avoid this place.

For what we paid, the accommodation was decent. The rooms and bathroom were clean, though some furniture was worn out and should be replaced. As they say, there's always money and music. The owner was a very pleasant guy who speaks Serbian and was available at all hours, day or night. I'd definitely come back 😀

The rooms have been turned into studios, with a fridge and space to make your own food, and the mattresses are new. The building itself is older, but the rooms are tidy and the terraces are great. Its spot works well both for town and getting around: the beach, shops, bakery and restaurants are nearby, and it’s handy for trips to Skiathos, Skopelos, Alonissos, Aegina, Athens and Chalkida. There are good island beaches too, including Lihadonisi, Porto Pefki, Padermas, Ag. Nikolaus and Ellinika. I knew what I was booking and was happy with it. Dimitris is kind and reliable, always available to help, and speaks Serbian perfectly. He graduated from DIF in NS.

The rooms were dirty, and the beds were terribly uncomfortable. The bathroom light didn't work, the shower was slippery, and its broken head could easily cut you. There were cockroaches in the hallway. The owner was hardly ever around, and the reception sat empty, so anyone could take things from there, even room keys. Don't stay here. A big zero.
