Hotel Theoxenia

This is a great little town. It seems to have gone through a recession, but now it’s getting a new lease on life.

The little beach just in front of Theoxenia is a hidden gem, and the views across the Corinthian gulf from our balcony were lovely. At night, watching the lights shimmer across Corinth made the stay even nicer. We’d booked a week in June and loved it. My mum moved here after retiring and leaving busy Athens, and I’ve visited Loutraki plenty of times over the years, but until now I’d never stayed at Theoxenia. My friends have always chosen it when they visit too. It’s a little retro gem, with the kind of old-fashioned 70s-80s decor that you’ll love if that’s your thing. What really surprised me was how clean it was. I like walking barefoot, and the floors were so spotless you could eat off them. There was a gentle smell of cleanliness as soon as we entered reception. Everyone was accommodating, helpful, polite, and always smiling, from the cleaning lady to the woman at breakfast and the reception staff. They made a really good impression. I’ve booked plenty of other places in Loutraki over the years, but I don’t need to look anymore. I’ll stay at Theoxenia whenever I visit my mum from the UK. Thanks to everyone there for being professional and so friendly. We’ll definitely be back.

Our room was in good condition and had a nice view, and there was a cosy sitting room on the lobby floor. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and kindly offered us tea and coffee in the morning.

Family-run Theoxenia delivers that famous Greek hospitality every time. It’s a lovely little hotel and a welcome change from the huge, impersonal places built for industrialized tourism.
