The staff are really friendly, and I thoroughly recommend Irilena. The sea is only a few hundred metres away, while the nearest Taverna and shops are a minute or two on foot. The main Malia to Heraklion bus route passes a short distance from the hotel. It's centrally located in Stalis, with a pool and pool bar, and the rooms have air conditioning and a safe.

A basic but really nice place to use as a base if you like heading out. Shops, pubs and restaurants are close by. I especially loved having breakfast on the balcony in the morning and watching the goats on the hillside.

I've stayed here four times now and love it. It's a family run hotel, and everyone's really friendly and helpful. The location is great for getting to the beach, shops, restaurants and bars.
