Pasiphae Hotel Malia

We couldn't relax here, and ended up spending three nights elsewhere because the conditions were so bad. The hot water barely worked and changed dangerously fast from freezing to scalding. I got irritated skin and minor burns. I complained at reception several times and wrote to management, but nobody offered a proper fix. The bed was another serious problem. It seemed to be made up of loose slats and two soda crates instead of a proper base, and I had significant back pain. The bedside table handle was broken too. The air conditioner leaked onto our belongings and luggage. They repaired it after I asked, but there was no apology or compensation. Housekeeping was minimal: they made the bed and emptied the trash in just a few minutes. Towels were changed irregularly, and the bath mat was often missing. We couldn't sleep in because there was loud knocking at the door around 10:30 a.m. every day, apparently for the cleaning check. Breakfast was poor as well. The omelets and sausages were usually cold, they restocked only when asked, and basic courtesy was missing. We had prepaid, but kept skipping breakfast and finding food elsewhere. This stay fell far short of what we'd expected from a relaxing trip. The room furnishings and maintenance were unacceptable, and the experience left me seriously questioning the hotel's reliability and quality control. The property should be thoroughly reviewed so other guests don't go through the same thing.

The area around Pasiphae Hotel is handy, with plenty of markets and restaurants nearby, a bus stop just a 3-minute walk away, and the beach about 700 meters on foot. Inside, our room was cleaned every day, the noise insulation was excellent, and the Wi-Fi stayed impressively steady. Everything we tried from the dinner menu was delicious, and the staff were incredibly polite and professional. Such a lovely little oasis. We'll definitely be back!

My wife and I really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere, great food and drinks, and easy access to the pool and bar. The service was excellent too. We'll go back, and I'd recommend it.

We liked having a balcony with a distant sea view, and the hotel is about a 15-minute walk from the beach. Breakfast was the same each day, as we expected, and there are plenty of nearby places to get a good bite for a reasonable price. We stayed for a week and found the staff very friendly. The room was clean, and both the inside and outside of the hotel looked really nice. Our room had a fridge but no hair dryer or kettle. We might have been able to ask for them, but didn't really need either. The shower is quite small, though we got used to it.
