Idillion

The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. Staff were kind and ready to help, and there are lots of restaurants close by. I’d happily recommend it.

Idillion has held on to its 1970s modernist look in the lobby, from the reception desk and phone booth to the grand staircase flooded with light. The rooms have been fully updated with air conditioning, and the whole place is spotless and well looked after. There’s also a snug outdoor terrace. The manageress is especially welcoming and still serves guests herself. The village feels authentic and is lovely to spend the evening in, with some very good Greek restaurants. I’d recommend staying here.

My room had all the basics covered, including a mini fridge, balcony, TV, wardrobe, big comfortable bed, four towels and even flip-flops. The hotel is a real find in the lovely village of Vilia, about a 50-minute drive from Athens Airport. I’d planned to arrive late after rental car delays, and the team reassured me by message that it was fine and offered to wait until midnight. I got in around 11:30 PM and was welcomed with a smile and a kind goodnight blessing. Each morning the owner greeted me with “Kalimera” (Good morning), and we’d talk in the evenings about my day and what I planned to do next. The owner and the rest of the staff were warm, friendly and always smiling, and made the place feel like home. I wish I’d planned a longer visit. It was a comfortable, kind-hearted stay, and I’ll be back.

There was nothing bad or ugly about the stay. The service was excellent, and I got a warm welcome. The room was modern-looking, very clean and well kept. Breakfast was nice and inexpensive, and having it in the yard was a pleasure. There are a few small shops nearby, a beautiful church if you look to the left, and nice restaurants in that direction too. The one thing missing from the room was coffee, as they only had tea. I highly recommend the place. Thanks for the warm hospitality.
