Summer Village of Hippocrates

The hotel, rooms, and holiday were all 10/10 for us. We loved the private pool with a sunset view and the in-room amenities. The food was very good and varied, and the kebabs on Sundays were excellent. Restaurant staff were kind and cheerful, and the housekeeping ladies did a great job, with spotless floors and neatly made beds. Remember to leave a tip, as our service seemed a little worse for the first few days before we did. The bar was the main letdown. Drinks weren't as good, the selection was limited, and under the all-inclusive package the bartender didn't really make cocktails. He'd pour a shot and leave you to add soda, like at KFC. The bigger problem was one arrogant bartender who seemed to mock customers and make them uncomfortable. I saw him laugh at the lady in front of us and give her a look as if she were an idiot for mispronouncing an English word or asking about the drinks. Slamming dishes around and spilling drinks while pouring also came across as unprofessional. When he asked how you were, a polite “Good, how about you?” got a “bad” in reply, and nearly his life story. That's a bit exaggerated, but on holiday you don't need to hear about someone working from 6 AM to 11 PM. I feel for him, but maybe he should change jobs. The two female bartenders, on the other hand, were professional and kind, thank you! The hotel was amazing and the holiday wonderful, 10/10. This one service issue needs to improve. I gave service two stars just to call attention to it, since the staff overall were excellent.

The food changed every day at lunch and dinner during our week, with new and delicious things to try. Breakfast stayed the same, which is pretty standard, but the little surprises at other meals made each day feel like a mini food experience. The pool was gorgeous, and the clean, stylish rooms were great. There was occasional music and dancing at the bar, which added to the atmosphere without being too much. We'd spent a long time looking for somewhere to relax and chose this adults-only hotel because it was all-inclusive and had such high ratings. We weren't disappointed. It was one of the best holidays we've had, with enjoyment from start to finish. We rented a car nearby to see the island. AlwaysBest was a great local rental company, and we had no issues with them. We're really happy with our stay and glad we picked this hotel. We'd come back.

We liked the hotel's layout, location, pools, and excellent service from the staff. But the food was a major disappointment, with little fruit or vegetables and not much flavor. They also didn't replenish the water in the room regularly. If those things improved, we'd be happy to return.

The place was refurbished in 2023 and is very well cared for. We found two large and three medium-sized pools, so there was no early-morning towel-reservation competition. The facilities were clean and comfortable, and the staff were always smiling, friendly, and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. It felt peaceful staying in this family-run, adults-only hotel, in the quiet part of the village. The beach, shops, and car or bike rentals next door were all a short 10-minute walk away, while the hotel was far enough from everything for real peace and quiet. A lovely place to relax and recharge. We'd happily return and recommend it to anyone looking for a calm, friendly, well-maintained stay.
