Zeus Kos Beach Hotel

We had a beautiful stay, and the people we met here made the holiday memorable. The food was great, the other guests were lovely, and the staff made us feel very welcome. Maria quickly sorted out some confusion with our booking when we arrived. After a welcome drink, we were shown to a spacious, clean, comfortable room with beautiful views. We were just below the restaurant, so the sound of chairs being moved was a little distracting, but it didn’t spoil things. The massage for my birthday was fantastic. I also bought some of their saffron moisturisers, which smell delicious. A big shout out to Mya, Abdulla and Christina at the reception bar and pool bar. They made things feel personal and knew our usual drinks well enough to start pouring before we asked. Truly lovely stay, and I couldn’t be happier. Thank you.

We loved our week at Ammos Luxury Hotel, staying from late September into early October, when it was around 23-25°C. The rooms were modern, clean, and a good size, and the decor really appealed to us. The staff were delightful and very helpful. I’d only suggest adding more bathroom storage or hooks for towels and toiletries. The hotel is quite remote, so renting a car is handy for seeing the island. We got a small one through the hotel for €75 for two days, which was reasonably priced, and visited the neighbouring town, TAM TAM Beach bar, Tigaki Beach, and Kos Town. We really liked the pool area, with its beach bar, music, and daily aqua aerobics at 12:15. We also played basketball one day, then booked the free sauna and steam room for our last day. There’s a pleasant beach lounge with outdoor sofas and beds, though parts of the beach are rocky. We found a sandy patch that was easier for swimming. The food was tasty with lots of options, and lunch was our favourite meal. There was a good selection of beers, spirits, and cocktails as well. The evening shows were entertaining, from traditional Greek dancing to karaoke and Asian dancing, though a raised performance area might help everyone see better. The one free à la carte meal by the beach was disappointing for us: they’d run out of chicken, removing two menu options, my grilled fish was mostly bones and still had its head on, and the food wasn’t hot even though it had just come off the grill. We went back to the main buffet, which we enjoyed, and it may simply have been a bad day. Massages start at about €100, which felt too expensive to us, and lower prices might encourage more guests to try them. On arrival, we were told technical issues meant we’d need to spend one night at another hotel. We found that a bit odd after seeing reviews from other guests who’d had the same experience. We weren’t upset, as the other hotel was impressive, though I can see how this might be inconvenient for some. We were also a little annoyed to pay the climate tax on top of the booking fee, as I thought they might waive it as a courtesy. All the same, we loved the holiday and would recommend the hotel. A few small improvements could make it even more special.

The resort was well placed for exploring quiet, charming spots and getting back for dinner without rushing. Renting a car in the lobby was straightforward, though there weren’t many models to choose from, which was fine for such a small island. We had a wonderful week, with gorgeous views, a relaxing atmosphere, a great pool, and a lively bar. Restaurant service was decent, but we would’ve liked more variety on the menu. It was a fantastic stay without any major problems.

Ammos was clean, beautiful, and pleasantly quiet, a perfect holiday spot. Christina, the bartender, made our stay even more memorable. She was always smiling and happy to chat, and she made my birthday feel so special with a cake and the whole restaurant singing happy birthday. I’m so grateful I got to meet such a wholesome person. I’ll never forget our time at Ammos!
