Megalochori is a quieter, smaller village than Skala, with less to do if you're after a livelier spot. For a calm, cosy stay, though, it was perfect for us, and it's very close to the beach. The hotel is beautiful, with a lovely terrace for sitting outside, and the rooms are fresh and very clean. The staff were helpful and offered great tips. Thanks to Olga for the recommendations. One small suggestion: a sign for the doorknob would let guests tell the cleaning staff not to knock that morning.

The garden has plenty of spots to spend time, and the coffee is really good. Most rooms have a balcony, and the sandy beach is nearby, with the port of Milos accessible. Flisvos is in a quiet area away from busy central Skala, which suited us perfectly. We enjoyed our stay: the rooms were comfortable and very clean, and the staff were kind and always smiling. A small request for future guests: the balconies are close together, so please keep noise down after 23 pm. Late-night talking, music, or videos without earphones can disturb people nearby. It didn't happen often during our stay, and I don't think it's common here, but I wanted to mention it. Flisvos was great value for money, and we'll definitely return.

The owner was adorable and so helpful. This little hotel is well looked after, tastefully decorated, and very clean. It's peaceful but sits above the beach, and it's great value for money.

I never got to Agistri or Floisvos hotel, but I still lost my money. The shipping company cancelled the trip a day before I was due to arrive because of extreme weather and winds above 7 Beaufort. The Port Police cancelled the flying dolphin, which I'd already paid for. Given my wife's surgery earlier this year and her back problems, we couldn't travel in those conditions. I told the hotel manager what had happened. The woman responsible for the reservation was rude and said she had a special arrangement with Expedia to keep the full amount for cancellations made less than seven days before arrival, whatever the reason. She told me not to call again and to sort it out with Expedia. When I explained these circumstances weren't under my control, she repeated that I shouldn't call again. That's not Greek hospitality, and it was unfair and unacceptable for the hotel to keep the full amount. Expedia was no help either. I couldn't find anyone to contact, and they don't even share an email address. Their offer said cancellation was free, but then the hotel charges the full amount if you cancel.

My room had a really nice view, and it was quite large, with AC, big beds, and a fridge. The harbour is about a 10-minute walk away. I'll definitely come back.
