The taverna was the highlight of our road trip through Crete. We ate better there than anywhere else, and the traditional food was so good, especially the Moussaka. Maria and her niece welcomed us with such warmth, and we had a wonderful stay at Elia Meronas. The valley views were beautiful, we slept really well, and the pool was a treat. Thanks again for everything. I’d happily recommend it ☺️🇬🇷♥️

We felt completely at ease thanks to the owners and the other warm, friendly people there. It’s a peaceful mountain retreat, and the homely feel made it even better. There was a good range of Greek dishes at the restaurant, with plenty of choice at breakfast too. Highly recommended.

The mountain and gorge walks nearby are beautiful, and at night you get cool, fresh air and the sound of crickets. The view is stunning. The village is quiet and away from the busy coast. It may not be perfect, but it’s somewhere you feel comfortable. Maria, the owner, makes you feel at home, and everything is simple and easy.

The pool made such a difference in the summer heat, and the bar area is a great place to hang out. Maria is a lovely, welcoming host who pays attention and makes you feel right at home. We’ll be back!
