We travel a lot, and this is among the top three places we’ve stayed. The apartment complex was even better than its photos, from the terraces and pool to the service, staff, and surroundings. It’s in a quiet part of town, with parking available. Breakfast was chosen from a list the day before. I’d love to come back to Santorini just to spend a few more days at Karat suites.

We had a rental car, and the central, quiet setting worked well for us: about 10 minutes to fira and 8 minutes to the black sand beach. They can also help arrange a rental or other transfers. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, with good local tips, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast came in a basket to the balcony at the time we chose, with what we wanted. We stayed three days and enjoyed the outdoor pool and bubble bath. One small note, the loft bedroom upstairs might not suit small children, though the sofa bed downstairs is a good alternative. I’d highly recommend Karat Suites.

The interiors and the pool in our room were lovely, and the place was nicely designed and very clean. Breakfast was good too, thanks to the Bulgarian lady who prepares it. Its location makes it fairly easy to get to the island’s main areas, but the surrounding area is all under construction, so don’t expect natural scenery or great views. A warmer welcome throughout the stay would have earned that extra star.

We could just relax and enjoy our holiday, since the lovely staff took care of everything. They even booked our cabs and tour trips for us. It was a lovely stay.

The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and everything was clean. A great choice if you're driving around the island.
