Aphrodite Hotel

The owners do so much to keep you happy that the place really feels like home. I think the location and view are unique. The beds weren't great, but the value for money makes up for it. Bigger beds and better mattresses would make the value even better than a 5-star hotel. Best wishes to Vassilis and his family!

The staff were so kind and welcoming, and the pool area was lovely. Everything was spotless, from the rooms to the shared spaces, and you could actually smell how clean it was. Our room was spacious, and the hotel sits somewhere quiet and peaceful. We had a great stay.

We stayed for two weeks and would come back. We first used this hotel last year while staying at Akti Hotel. The rooms are comfortable and clean, there was no noise from other rooms, and the pool was clean. Breakfast was lovely, with plenty to choose from. The staff were friendly, and the portions at the taverna were better this year. I loved the sunsets. A few things could be improved. The water in the tea machine wasn't boiled. I think the hotel should be adults-only, since there's nothing for children. A taxi to Molyvos cost €7, so perhaps a minibus could run for a couple of Euros per person. People staying at other resorts came to use our pool, taking sunbeds from hotel guests and letting their children bother people. The taverna also served Greek people first. One day a table of 12 had booked lunch and food in advance, but no extra staff were brought in. The staff, especially the blonde waitress, were run off their feet, and other guests waited 1 hour 10 minutes for a salad. They should have added staff and used the hotel kitchen for the booked meal.

Getting into town can be a real challenge for many, and there's no shuttle service. I'd rent a car or ATV from the start if you want to see things. The rooms are excellent, though there was a bit too much noise from the hallway. Service was okay, especially from the beach and pool crew and the cleaning staff, who deserve appreciation. Reception felt a little reserved, with not much contact or interest.
