Loyalty only seems to go one way here. We stayed in September 2024 and came back on September 25, 2025. While my wife was trying to check in, a Greek man came to the desk to check out. Both women at the desk ignored her and served him instead, and it took them FIFTEEN minutes to check him out. A few minutes into our check-in, they said our room wouldn’t be ready for up to two hours, even though it was already past 1:30, so we went to get a club sandwich. Then things got stranger. "Olga" told us the room was ready, but instead of taking us to the third-floor Superior Room with Sea View we’d had last year, she took us to the first floor, three rooms from our driver’s room, and claimed it had a "sea view." Maybe by then we were thrown off by the poor desk service and long wait, because neither of us pointed out that it wasn’t the room we’d booked. Our reserved room cost 135 euros, and this one was 100. The next day, I wrote to the hotel about the shabby service and the wrong room. This one had a small balcony with balconies on either side and people sitting outside five feet away. That wasn’t the case with the room we were supposed to have. I stupidly didn’t ask for a 35 euro credit for the difference. Did they offer one, or even a discount on the dinner we had that night? Heck no. We’re coming back to Greece in 2026, but there’s no way we’d stay here again. We’ll choose another hotel in the area. If you stay here, make sure you get the room you reserved. They can’t be trusted and are incompetent.

The clean rooms and very efficient housekeeping were a bright spot. We saw four staff working together to clean one room thoroughly. But the stay fell short of what I expected from a hotel claiming to be five-star. Our booking was mishandled, and they put us in a room already reserved for another guest later that week. Then the front desk tried to move us, making it feel as though we were being asked to sort out their mistake. Service was inconsistent too. Sometimes staff were attentive, while at other times several walked past without acknowledging us. The food was mixed. Some dishes were very good, but we were served undercooked meatballs twice, and the kids’ souvlaki came as a single skewer on a plate without sides. The pool wasn’t well maintained, and we had health issues that we believe were due to the water quality. The spa was a major letdown as well. The massage I had was the worst of my life, and left me questioning the training and standards. This place has potential, but service consistency and food safety need serious attention and staff training. It wasn’t my worst stay, but it certainly didn’t feel like a five-star experience.

The room was a little small, but tastefully done, comfortable, and well equipped. Its balcony view was stunning and made the whole stay feel special. Service was warm, professional, and caring at a very high level. Even the towels and bathrobes had a distinctive pampering scent. Right on the seafront, Alas Resort & Spa has beautiful views of the clear water and was impeccably clean throughout. A perfect spot for peace, elegance, and a getaway to remember.

The hotel’s stunning views are everywhere, and the summer sunsets are incredible. It’s near the village of Elea in Lakonia. We found the staff welcoming and helpful, and the food was fantastic, so we had dinner at the restaurant twice. Breakfast was generous, with plenty of variety and lots of local Greek produce. I loved the ladder down to the sea over the rocks, with all the four-poster beds. I’d love to come back.
