I was honestly nervous about booking this hotel because it’s only two stars, but it turned out better than we expected. Our room was clean and pleasant, with a small terrace, a table and three chairs. Even in July, we didn’t need the AC. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly and very helpful. The best thing is how close it is to the beach. You can rent two sunbeds in the hotel garden for 5 euros, or a beach set with an umbrella for 8 euros. Breakfast was simple but good quality, with cheese, meat, tomato, plums, watermelon, cakes and cookies. It starts at 8, but the staff were happy to let us eat earlier. The hotel’s taverna also had very friendly staff and really good, generous portions of food. There are lots of tavernas on the beach too. A large supermarket is close by, with a huge choice of products and friendly staff.

The beach is great for swimming and playing ball. It’s shallow near the shore and gets deeper as you go out. We also really enjoyed the Taverna food, with a wide choice of regular menu items and different daily dishes. The staff are very friendly, and it’s a family business. A good experience overall.

The water is mostly shallow with hardly any waves, so it’s mainly good for swimming. The coast is ordinary sand and pebbles, with a few free showers and paid sunbeds. It gets pretty crowded at busy times. Don’t come expecting sea life or particularly beautiful water.

This is my favourite place to stay on Corfu Island. The whole family who own it are so hospitable, and you can tell they really love what they do.
