Nasos Hotel & Resort

This family run place is affordable, attractive, and doesn’t feel too worn out. It makes a good base for exploring Corfu, and for the price the basic food is perfectly edible. Just don’t let the star rating put you off. One big problem on departure day: make sure you can keep your room all day. The shower room they let us use was disgusting, muddy everywhere, and I can’t see how anyone is meant to get clean there, especially with our four kids.

We felt really looked after during our week of rest, and the staff were super friendly. The pool was lovely and clean, but it closes at 8 PM. I’d have liked it to stay open until 11. Who doesn’t enjoy a late swim?

The location was a real plus: a big supermarket and souvenir shop are two minutes away, the beach is four minutes away, and the main road with taverns and car rentals is six minutes away. We loved staying here and would happily return. The pool is big and clean, and we always found sunbeds. Our room was cleaned daily, the AC worked, and the WiFi was okay, though the AC sometimes gave off a strange smell. We were on the ground floor. The toilet lid needs replacing, the shower silicone needs fixing, and I missed having a bathroom shelf for toiletries, but those were small issues. Dinners were good, though drinks cost extra, and I think water should at least be included. Breakfast could be better, with more kinds of fruit or yogurt toppings. I really didn’t like the scrambled eggs, they were cold and tasteless.

The location puts you close to everything you need, and the hotel itself looks modern and nice. The food was pretty good, though repetitive. What made our holiday much worse was room 425: it wasn’t very clean, with dust and dirt on the floor, and it was damp. Cockroaches came to our bed on several nights. Staff said that was “normal in this season.” Without that room experience, we’d have had a much nicer holiday.
