Cloud Blue

We booked the honeymoon villa at Cloud Blue and loved the view from our room. The place was spotless, with a well equipped kitchenette, and parking was easy with our rental car. It’s also just a short walk to town. Ion was genuinely kind and so helpful, and we had a lovely, memorable stay.

We’ve come to Greece twice in three years, and both visits we chose Cloud Blue. It’s peaceful but close to Mykonos Town, and the pool looks out over the water. Even spending a day there means you still get some of the best views in Greece. Ion is quick to respond and always helpful, and Maria, the cleaning lady, is friendly and respectful of your space. She left our rooms spotless each day. If we make it back to Greece, we’ll stay at Cloud Blue again.

Ion made everything easy, from picking us up at the ferry port to sharing good beach and restaurant suggestions. He also drove us back and waited until we had our tickets. The Honeymoon Suite was lovely, with a thoughtful design, and the grounds had a pool and some parking. We felt secure, liked the views, and found the price fair. It’s near town too. I spent too long comparing places, so just book it!

Cloud Blue has only three or four villas and apartments, plus the host’s house, so the small scale gives it a quiet, tucked away feel. It wouldn’t suit someone after a lively party hotel. We’d love to return with our adult children and book the whole place as a retreat. Our studio was fresh and very clean, and the housekeeper came daily. There were even fresh flowers in a vase. It had a small kitchenette, while the bathroom was functional but very compact. The large glass doors opened onto a magnificent sea-facing balcony, where we spent hours watching boats heading to and from Mykonos port. We were there for three nights at the beginning of the season in May 2024, and the pool was too cool for much swimming. It’s a beautiful infinity pool, and in warmer June weather we’d have spent much more time around it. The location is great, about a five-minute walk from old town Mykonos, but away from its bustle. The road walk has no footpaths and is narrow with two-way traffic, so you need to watch for cars. At first it felt a bit daunting after walking on roads with pavements, but we got used to it. There’s no food service at the property. Two mini-marts are within a five-minute walk for breakfast groceries, and we ate our other meals out. We washed clothes by hand and hung them on the line across the end of our balcony. The hilltop breeze dried them easily. Ion offered to have the housekeeper wash and dry them, but guests can’t use laundry facilities on their own. Ion was very accommodating: he picked us up when we arrived and drove us right to where we needed to be at the port for our ferry, which helped with our heavy bags. A bus passes the property about every 30 minutes, and we used it to explore the island one day. The stop just beyond the property made the return easy, without a walk up the hill from town.
