Ampelos Residence

Elife at reception gave us some good recommendations, and the area was quiet. We also liked the rooftop swimming pool, the comfortable room, and how close we were to a bus stop and a kiosk selling bus tickets. There were some drawbacks, though. The doors were terribly loud, and you could hear them throughout the building. Our room’s window opened down to floor level, so people could look inside, and the view wasn’t nice. Staff weren’t there all the time, so most communication was through WhatsApp. A sun umbrella on the roof would have been useful, but there wasn’t one.

This hotel completely took advantage of my boyfriend and me. They put us in a room far outside the city center, at a property different from the one advertised online. When that room had a leak, they offered to move us to their “beach front” property as compensation, but it was in the middle of nowhere, and they even wanted to charge us extra. As a Greek, I was extremely disappointed, and the whole thing left a sour taste in my mouth. I left Naxos and went back to Paros the same day. Terrible

The pool was a real treat, and being open at all hours was great. We loved our stay in Naxos. The location was brilliant, and our room was lovely and spacious. The staff were very helpful, with advice and recommendations on everything.

The hosts were so thoughtful that they even drove us to the port when our ferry was very early. The location worked well for walking around Naxos town, and it’s also handy if you rent a car or moped because you can avoid the full one-way circuit. Our room was really nice, with super-comfy beds and air conditioning that worked very well. The rooftop pool is gorgeous too.
