Pension Stella

The location was convenient for the beach, bars, and port, but that was the only good part. We were put in apartments separate from the main ones, although Giorgia had said she’d put us on the terrace at the top. The so-called terrace was a shabby, peeling roof scattered with mattresses, paper bags, and other things. Our room was grotty. The shower didn’t work the first night, and during our four-day stay I think the towels were changed once. Nobody cleaned, changed the sheets, or took away the bathroom paper. Giorgia left her card, but wouldn’t answer the phone or email, and we never saw her again. Her mother was sometimes downstairs, but she didn’t speak English. When we complained about the room, she showed us another one that was even worse. Avoid at all costs.

Hello, and sorry for my English. We paid €120 in cash for the room at Pension Stella in Naxos for two nights, August 5 and 7, under the name Corinne Dore. But you charged our bank card another €120. Could you credit the €120 back to our bank? Otherwise, €240 for two nights is much too expensive. Thank you.

The location was perfect, but when we returned to the room at 23:00, we found a plumbing problem. We understand these things can happen, but the owner didn’t answer the mobile phone. We ended up searching around the property for a bucket and mopping up three buckets of water ourselves.

We were upgraded for free, and the new place was twice the size of what we’d booked, which made a real difference. It was a great property with a nice living area. We also rented a car through the owner and had no problems with the rental. I recommend it!
