Philoxenia Earia

We found Pholoxenia Earia in Nea Vrasna far below what we expected. There seemed to be little attention to guests’ comfort, and although the property may have potential, the general feel and lack of maintenance made for a very disappointing stay. We can’t recommend it, and hope this helps other travellers avoid the same experience.

We arrived with our 9-month-old daughter, stayed barely one night, and then left to find somewhere else. The bathroom and kitchenette were filthy and in a horrible state, and I won’t even say what we found under the beds. We had to do a major clean ourselves after arriving. The photos we’d seen didn’t show the real condition at all. Maybe there are newer and older rooms, so it depends on what you get, I guess. The place is near the beach, but the village is tiny and basically dead. On our balcony there was always a very strong gasoline-like smell, which was super weird. Never again.

We’ve stayed here a couple of times this summer and had a fabulous time. The owners are friendly, and the pool area and shared spaces are clean, with a fresh, simple modern look. The studios have the same feel and everything you need. Even though it’s self-catering, the rooms are cleaned daily like in a hotel. I’d definitely come back, and especially recommend it for families.

The apartments are cosy and clean, with two bedrooms, which worked really well for our family. Staff were super friendly and helpful, and they change the towels regularly. The sea is 100 metres away, about a two-minute walk. The kids can keep enjoying the pool while you get their dinner ready.
