Meliton - Porto Carras Grand Resort

The food choice is really limited, and we waited half an hour to get into the breakfast hall. Other guests kept streaming past the line, which was mostly why the wait took so long. The buffet didn't seem worth it either, especially with eggs sitting under the heat lamp long enough to get leathery. It is very kid friendly, to the point that people ignore the 'do not use scooters inside' rule. You can get some space just outside, if the smokers don't bother you. The other reviews are right as of spring 2026: this is only a five-star resort if the reviews were bought from Temu.

Our room looked out over the hotel's private beach, and it was the best view. We also loved the food at the tavern Cikado. The chef even surprised us with a gift, which was a lovely touch. The receptionists were kind and professional, and the beach was clean. One of the best hotels I've ever visited.

The marina looked abandoned and unfinished, like a neglected ghost town, and the chaotic atmosphere included children running unsupervised through the restaurant. The buffet was crowded, loud, and disorganized. The food was average and repetitive, and often lukewarm or cold. The beach was advertised in a misleading way as sandy, but it is actually gravel and shingle. Cleanliness was disappointing around the resort: sunbeds were stained and had bird droppings on them, the spa and gym were dirty, and paint was peeling off walls. Guest Relations staff were repeatedly unfriendly, dismissive, and unhelpful. Although reception and the forecourt looked modern and well maintained, the rest of the hotel felt dated and tired, and needs refurbishment. It fell far below what I expect from a five-star resort and didn't match the quality shown in the marketing.

Everything was perfect again. We've been visiting for years, and every stay in this most beautiful part of Chalkidiki has been wonderful, from booking with Mrs Katerina to being welcomed at reception by Mrs Sofia. Thank you again!
