I liked that the hotel has its own beach and a garden with a pool, but I wouldn’t return. They advertise it as four star, though I don’t think it deserves even three. The restaurant wasn’t open for dinner, and the pool bar didn’t open during the day, so we had to eat elsewhere. Taverns and shops in Nikiana were a 15-20 minute walk away. There was no hot water at night, the room furniture was old, and the atmosphere wasn’t good. Wi-Fi was only available at reception, and it stopped working if more than two or three people used it.

The hotel has a good location, parking, a pool, and a private beach, but the management was terrible. We left a day early after a horrible night and a rude encounter with a woman I assume was the boss. She was arrogant and treated us like garbage, though the receptionist we spoke to at night was nice. At first, despite booking and paying for a sea view, we were given a small, smelly basement room overlooking vegetation. The bathroom was tiny, and the watered-down liquid soap was unpleasant. Whenever a neighbor used the water, the plumbing made a loud, creepy noise, and we could hear everything through the walls. After we complained in the middle of the night, we were moved upstairs. That room was a little better but still old and tired, with the same plumbing, a thousand mosquitoes, and a dead cockroach hanging from a light bulb. The ceiling was painted dark red. After another complaint, we finally got a nice, clean, modern room on the second floor, more like 2014 than 1980. I still remember how bad the rooms, smells, and atmosphere were when we stayed in 2014, back when it was called Alexandros. This month we were in Lefkada again and stayed at Christina Studios and Avra Hotel in Ligia. For about the same prices as Alexandros in 2014, the hospitality, cleaning, breakfast, and general conditions were amazing. Lovely island and towns!

All of that came at an affordable price. The location was handy for supermarkets and tavernas, and there was free Wi-Fi everywhere, even on the beach. The private beach had a small pier, mostly empty, with clean, warm water, small pebbles, grass, olive trees, and loungers. The pool was big and clean, with loungers spaced out. Our apartment was spacious, with a living room, two AC units at no extra charge, a kitchen with everything needed, and a large bathroom. It was cleaned every day and had bathroom toiletries. Breakfast was a buffet with quite a few choices.

The hotel has a private beach, a pool, pool table, ping pong table, and a restaurant with low prices. Our room was large and very nice, with a sea view, though the Wi-Fi was poor, as in much of greece. I liked the place. The sign with alexandros is on your right, and the hotel is on your left, though it’s now called Lydia beach. If you’re in lefkada, I recommend visiting porto katsiki, egrimni, ag.nikiana, and kathisma. The water is an awesome green smarald blue, and the beaches are marble, with not that much sand.

It’s now Alexandros B' S.A., formerly ALEXANDROS HOTEL, and it was the worst hotel ever for me. The food was awful, the owner rude, and there was no internet except at reception. The place was smelly and noisy, with old furniture and a sea view through the trees. I’m not going back. Read carefully before booking and ask people who’ve stayed there.
