The grounds are full of trees and greenery, with cicadas making noise all day. The sea is only two hundred meters away, and you can use the tavern and washing machine at the Mythimna campsite next door. Laundry costs €3 with your own detergent or €3.50 if you buy it there. We liked the peaceful setting, free beach loungers and umbrellas, and helpful staff, who change the sheets and towels every two nights. The bathrooms have been recently redone, but the rooms feel practically untouched since the 1980s and show their age. There’s a kitchenette, though ours wasn’t the cleanest, plus an outdoor camping table and an indoor kitchen table. If you need everything spotless, this may not be for you. If you’re moderately adaptable, go for it.

We had a comfortable ground-floor apartment with a garden and sun loungers, just steps from the sea. The area is very quiet, and the location is convenient for Falasarna, Elafonisi, and Balos.

The beach in front of the campsite is a short walk away, and you can use a free umbrella and lounge chair there. The apartment is in a peaceful area with a lovely garden, and our upper-floor place had a sea view and a little terrace with a table and chairs. It’s a good base for the famous beaches on the island’s west side, with excellent tavernas nearby. The owner was friendly and helpful. Our apartment was clean and cleaned every other day during our stay. The bathroom is completely new and there’s air conditioning. The stove and refrigerator are a bit dated, though they still work. Dishes, pans, dish soap, clean linens every two days, and a hairdryer are provided. There’s also a small terrace with a clothesline, and the connected campsite’s washing machine costs €3.50.

A car is essential here, since without one you’ll be isolated in the middle of nowhere. These independent apartments are in a strategic spot between Balos, Falasarna, and Elafonnisi, surrounded by nature and just steps from the sea, though the beach itself isn’t the prettiest around. The accommodation is clean and has air conditioning, but the internet connection is truly lousy. Staff from the nearby campsite are very friendly and helpful. Really good value for the area. Recommended.
