Esperas has a wonderful location, a great breakfast, and sunset views that are hard to beat. I’d recommend booking a dinner table for sunset. The luggage porters were a big help with all the steps, and the staff were lovely. Unlike many Oia hotels right beside the crowded pedestrian street, this one feels secluded, so crowds can’t watch you sunbathe or use the pool.

The balconies have breathtaking views, the breakfast is fantastic and included, and the service is amazing. There are a lot of stairs, so here’s what we counted: 45 from the parking lot to the Esperas entrance, mostly down with a couple going up. Then it’s 46 more to reception. From there some suites are up, but most are down. Our larger two-bedroom unit with a plunge pool was another 48 stairs below reception. That’s 139 stairs to our unit, so it’s a fabulous stay if you’re able to manage the climb.

We felt so welcome and looked after by the staff. The rooms were cozy and one of a kind, and the sunset and caldera views were unreal. Sitting by the pool with that scenery was perfect. Definitely a place to stay in Oia!

The staff were lovely and helpful, even sorting transportation, dinner reservations, and recommendations for our trip. The views were incredible, the rooms and breakfast were great, and the location worked perfectly. Would absolutely recommend.

The climb from the taxi drop-off to the hotel took about 3 minutes and wasn’t bad, though sneakers are a good idea. They also accommodated our request for a room near the pool. The hotel is right beside Oia’s best sights, with stunning views and a plentiful, delicious breakfast. You can choose your breakfast order at check-in. I’d give it more stars if I could!
