Philoxenia Hotel

We got back yesterday after a stay at this lovely hotel. The yard is full of greenery and flowers, which made it a relaxing place, and the rooms were in decent shape. Breakfast was excellent, and the yard was nice too. Anastassiou the owner was an amazing person. There were a few things that could be better. The mosquito screen was a little torn at the bottom on the outside left. In room 103 on the first floor, the toilet leaned slightly for some unknown reason. Water leaked from the bottom of the shower while using it, so showering was difficult. The bathroom door kept swinging shut on its own, even when I left it open to wash, which made me sweat. The pillows were too low and the beds weren't very comfortable, though the mattresses felt fairly comfortable when lying down. The air conditioners didn't cool the hotel well enough and need replacing. One other thing: there was a window in the dining room that looked directly into the room where we ate, which wasn't very nice.

The garden is lovely, and the staff were friendly and incredibly helpful. Rooms are cozy, clean and nice. Breakfast had plenty of variety and was filling, and the price was great too. The beach is a five-minute walk, though we found it better to drive to nearby beaches like Pachis. 10/10, or 5/5 by Google's scale.

The staff were thoughtful and very polite. Our room was neat and clean, and breakfast was great, with local vegetables and fruit plus lots of variety. They also gave us a helpful introduction to the island and answered all our questions. What's not to love?

Everything was clean and ready for us when we arrived, and we had a great stay at Philoxenia. The manager gave us useful tips for the island and helped us find some amazing spots. We'd definitely recommend staying at Philoxenia.
