Gelos House

Mr Nicholas kindly arranged transfers to and from the airport, and the staff were welcoming and attentive. Our rooms were cleaned daily. The pool and its bar were nice additions, though the pool isn’t heated. That’s absolutely fine in summer, but it may feel cold to most people in May or September. The location is convenient for amenities: bakeries and a supermarket are across the road, several good cafes and restaurants are a five to ten minute walk away, and two beaches are within five minutes on foot. There’s also a bus stop across the road, with a 10 minute ride to the main town. We had a great time at Gelos House and would love to return.

That afternoon surprise of coming back to fresh towels and a tidy studio was lovely. The pool and bar were a nice extra, and Gelos House had everything we needed. We spent four great days here as a couple, thanks in large part to the warm owners, who shared plenty of ideas for places to visit and eat. Big thanks to Katerina, Nikolas, and the staff!

We’re Greek-Canadian and can’t wait to come back. The place was spotless, with spacious, pleasant rooms, and the price compared very favorably with other hotels. Its location worked especially well for getting around by rented ATV or scooter. Everyone from the owner to the cleaning staff was lovely. Katerina and Andreas looked after us from arrival to departure, and Kuria Ekaterina felt like an aunt of my own. Five stars, well earned. I’ll definitely stay here again when I’m in Mykonos.

Ornos has a lot close by: a bakery, tavernas, restaurants, the beach, and a supermarket, with easy access to Mykonos town. Gelos House itself is bright and clean, and the accommodation is kept to a high standard. There’s a lovely pool, a sunny place to lounge, and a snack menu at good prices. The owner makes you feel welcome, as do the friendly staff. Andreas makes a very good Greek salad at the bar. A great hotel choice for a relaxed, satisfying stay on Mykonos.
