Best place!

UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!! It was filthy inside and out, and the mosquitoes were unbearable. Not suitable for children! The photos showed something quite different from the room we got. The supposed house had a second room with no windows, like a 1.60m-high cellar, boiling hot. They even commented when we left the AC on. The cherry on top was being offered a discount on arrival if we wanted to leave the dirt behind. The bathroom was about 2m2, so cramped you couldn't get in without being right on top of the toilet. It was dirty and old, had no door to close, and looked straight onto the bed. The place was handed over dusty and filthy. We bought cleaning products ourselves and cleaned the closets so we could put our clothes somewhere clean. The cleaner showed up on the fifth day, though we'd been told it would be every third day. After we asked, she only cleaned the spots her mother-in-law would see. I called the owner and showed him the dirt and cobwebs under the bed, in the corners and in the cupboards. He said he didn't have another cleaner, and if she didn't come and do her job, he'd have to clean it himself. Ants, spiders and even centipedes were our roommates the whole time. No disinfection! It isn't worth visiting, and especially isn't worth the price they're asking.

I've booked houses and hotels for years, but this stay will stick with me for all the wrong reasons. We had reserved the 65sqm house with different levels, but when we arrived, the owner put us in a room instead. He said there'd been a cancellation and blamed the weather, saying our booked place had a mountain view. I suspect he put us there because of the dog. The room felt dirty, and it was so cramped that two people couldn't pass through the same spot. Ants and spiders were everywhere, and I don't know how many we killed. The bed and pillows were hard. One pillow smelled of smoke when I turned it over, and under the case it was a sofa cushion, not even a sleeping pillow. The internet was fine for the first two days, then for some reason we had to go out onto the balcony to get a signal, despite the supposed signal booster. The AC didn't work properly: we timed it, and it blew for ten seconds, stopped for six, then repeated, making a strange noise. I asked the owner's father when the maid came, and he said every three days. I explained that they should let me know when they came to collect the dog so they wouldn't be afraid, and that we could open the door and leave to find him. He said that in that case he wouldn't go inside to clean at all. Two houses became vacant during the week, and finally the girl came while we were there; he sent her to freshen the place up a bit. From Monday to Friday, our sheets and towels were never changed. On Friday, the owner called to ask when we'd check out because he'd arranged for the girl to come clean. I said we'd leave at twelve to twelve, and when he asked how things had gone, I told him to come by and we'd talk in person. He said okay, but never showed up. The room had been prepaid, so he didn't seem to care. What a waste of money.

We contacted Mr. Emmanuel Tsirigos a week before our planned arrival because of COVID-19 and asked about the cancellation policy. He told us twice by phone that the deposit would be refunded, saying this would protect his business, so we had to cancel our vacation. Then, the day before we were due to arrive, he said the room would be left empty and he wouldn't return our money. Google, Booking, and Agoda all showed no rooms available on those dates at Horizon Studios. The owner never refunded the deposit, without giving a receipt, and also made a second reservation for the same room. This felt unprofessional and unreliable, and like he took advantage of our responsible attitude toward his business.
