Castri Village Hotel

The view from the rooms is breathtaking, and breakfast is a real highlight, with everything seeming to be homemade. The spinach pie is especially good. The rooms were very clean and smelled like a warm spring day. The bar and pool area are pleasant, though not spectacular, and parking is adequate but tricky once you see why. The layout of the hotel will remind you why you hate manual shifters. Some rooms are nice, but only about half have been renovated, and a few bathroom fixtures are well past their best. It’s right by Chiona beach, which may be one of Europe’s hidden gems. A bit difficult to sum up.

We’d come back, we had a great time. The rooms and apartments are nice, clean, and well looked after, and the view and location are really great. Breakfast is included and good, with plenty for both adults and kids. Snacks, cocktails, lunch, and dinner are good too. The one small downside was the pool, and sometimes there were sharp ceramics. Otherwise, all good and five stars.

The entrance is steep, so having a car with automatic transmission worked out well. Reception was pleasant and professional, and both the breakfast and location were great. I recommend it.

We really liked the layout, with separate apartments instead of one big building. The room was clean, and the ocean and olive tree views were beautiful. The staff were very friendly and did all they could to help, clearly putting a lot into this family business. The restaurant was great, and if half board is an option, take it. We’re vegetarians and still had lots to choose from. The kids enjoyed the pool and the nearby beach. You can also take a bus to beautiful vai beach for 2€/person.
